Black Beauty® Heavy Traffic Grass Seed

Our once beautiful lawn was looking sad and sparse. No matter how much I watered it was in bad shape. I decided to do a soil test and it revealed high pH and severely depleted nutrient levels. I found Jonathan Green. I treated with Mag-i-Cal Plus to quickly reduce pH and began the prep work of aerating, dethatching, mowing, filling holes, and finally spreading the lawn food and overseeding with this Heavy Traffic seed. Today is Day 22 and our lawn is not only growing but it is beautiful. I’m astounded! This seed is worth every penny. There are NO weeds growing with the new grass. None. Our soil is being fed, the pH quickly came into an optimal range, and for the first time in a long time I have received compliments on our lawn. 22 days of watering and it is like a beautiful carpet. We chose the Heavy Traffic seed because we have three dogs. I’m looking forward to next Spring to test, add amendments, and stare at our beautiful lawn. This seed is worth every penny.

My grass grew so well after this!

Our German Shepherd and Belgian Malinios turned our yard into a mud pit, it was actually two large mud pits. We seeded a total of 2 separate times about 3 weeks apart and put mushroom compost over it and watered twice a day. I am now SO happy to see nice green grass that withstands the force of my working dogs.

A fantastic grass seed, we had a big party in our yard and used a umbrella stand on the lawn. We liked how it looked and worked, so we left it there fo the summer. After removing it there was a big round dead spot left. One application of this seed and ina week we had grass, two weeks and you cound not tell there was a big round dead spot.

There was an area of my yard along the back fence that was muddy with no grass. I sprinkled a layer of black beauty heavy traffic seed on the are and within literally days if was filling in. It is amazing, I will continue to buy this brand and I have no intension of going back to Scotts brand at all.

I got this and Scott’s. Hands down this grew fast and is awesome! It was sprouted after 5 days. Great product. Half of the Scott’s didn’t come up and same after a month (see 2nd photo for Scott’s).

My backyard was a mud pit from my 4 large dogs. This seed is just awesome. It grew where nothing else would grow even with them stomping on it.

So I’m going to share my review with this product and all I need to say is I’m speechless. I planted on May 4 and now it’s the 19th I have the best lawn ever. This stuff is a whole different level of amazing. My neighbors have come over and asked me what I did and it it’s quiet simple. PUT EFFORT INTO WHAT YOU WANT. This grass seed is definitely worth every penny and then some . I live in northern Virginia and this stuff took off like wild fire. It took two weeks for it to be amazing back yard looks the same.

This seed grows well. Fills in the patches.

Seed was spread and it is already sprouting. This turned out to be good seed. We spread it with Turf Builder fert. and it is up and growing already. Very happy with it.

This grass seed worked line a charm. 1 day we had mud and within 5 days you could see grass growing!! Within 3 weeks it filled in almost completely!!

If I could give this product 10 stars, I would. I’ve tried many different (well known) brands of seed and nothing comes close to this stuff. I have dogs and it’s nearly impossible to keep a “green” backyard. After this past winter my backyard literally was a sheet of dirt. My husband gave up on having grass and told me I was wasting my time, that grass will never grow in the yard with all the dogs constantly tearing it up. With my first treatment, I mixed the Fast Grow and Heavy Traffic (about 3 to 1 ratio) and covered it with EZ Straw seeding mulch. I did one area at a time so I could fence off the area while the seeds germinated, which only took about a week. I wish I would have taken before and after photos but I really was not expecting it to work so well. Read my review on the EZ Straw seeding mulch. These two items together are AMAZING!

Filling in nicely

This is some really dense grass and works great for bare spots.

I have been using this in an area that is a mud pit. So far there has been some growth. This is better than any other seed I have used so that is why it has a high rating from me. I will be purchasing more so I can over-seed the area.

Much better than I thought – grass is very green and thick, much better than other grass seeds I’ve tried. Sprouted fast. Instructions on the box are very clear.

I have lived in my home for about five years. The previous owner didn’t take the best care of his lawn. So unfortunately I was inherited with a lot of work. Last year we tore down a bunch of trees and extended our lawn by approximately 5000 ft.². It was a perfect opportunity to exclusively use Jonathan Green products. I used this heavy traffic seed along with winter survival fertilizer and the results have been amazing. The neighbors ask what the secret was, and it was simple: follow the USA program by Jonathan Green and you’ll have the greenest lawn on the block.

Seems to be coming up beautiful. Will see how it goes, if it does not hold up though the summer, I will repost. It is a pretty grass. Would buy this again.

I live in the panhandle of Florida, my soil is a mixture of sand, calcium deposits, red dirt, and a bunch of unfavorable chemicals. It’s been very difficult trying toget grass to grow. Not just sprout and die. I bought this in hopes to get bare spots filled in along with making the grass thickerto help choke out weeds and crab grass. This has been better than the Scotts treatments. I will only buy this kind for now on. It’s full, it’s thick, it’s only taken about 4 weeks to start filling in. And it’s like carpet. Though i enriched my soil with cow manure, mirical grow, ironite, 10-10-10, watered and airiated the yard before i spread the seed. Once i spread the seed, i ariated the yard again to ensure the seeds got buried so they would wash out. None the less, i put in just as much work with about 5 other name brand grass seeds. This seems tobe more durable, thicker, and greener than all the rest. I highly recommend this product

The grass is coming up amazingly in Zone 8 (overseeding some zoysia). It is super green and seems to resist wear and tear as I have two crazy dogs!
Update 5-7: This grass is AWESOME. Buy it. My entire lawn is super green and there have been no tracks from my two 70 pound dogs running on it. Comes up quickly and very green.

Grew where I never thought I’d be able to grow grass again

Entering my second season with this seed. Made it through a dry winter, and 9 months of drought. Worth the extra dollars. Am ordering a second bag to overseed today.

I bought this for my front and back yards. The front yard was just dirt and an area that got a lot of sun. The back yard go decent sun, but was prone to collecting water from heavy rains (I live in Charlotte, NC by the way). Anyway, I planted the seed in March and watered regularly for several days. I saw grass sprouting after about 10 days.
Now it is a month later and the grass is very full and lush. It is a brilliant green and looks extremely healthy. I am most impressed by its durability, as I have tried all sorts of solutions for my back yard, and this has been AMAZING! I highly recommend, and I will re-order for over-seeding in the fall.

So far great results. The birds really enjoyed the seeds but enough survived to start seedlings one month after planting. Planted just before a 3 inch rain storm . A few spots are bare and will add more seeds. Not bad for someone with no experience.

I was surprised and delighted in how great these seeds worked. My grass is growing in and looking good. I had two 5×5 areas with no grass (2 trees removed), within the last month the ground is almost fully covered.

If you want quality seeds that produces a rich green lawn, we’ll Jonthan Green has you covered! They are a bit pricey, but will deliver results you wish. Approximately 10-14 days for germination for me.

This stuff actually works! I’ve tried two other re-seeding brands and they didn’t really work. This one grows quickly and the grass is so soft and thick!

This grass always delivers. I used the same brand a few years ago to seed my backyard. I recently had some trees removed and put some seed down. Within a week, I can see the little guys coming up.

I live in central Florida, have extremely sandy soil, with intermittent areas of hard packed dirt, threw this down, took awhile but came up nicely, thin stalks, good color, stands up well to traffic, extreme heat, survived a freeze we had not long ago that destroyed other grass and many plants, fares well when watered only 1x week even with hot sun (restrictions). I just ordered another.
